Hi all

Easter is a time for celebration for Christian believers across the world. It commemorates the most amazing event all of history – the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This is the most amazing miracle of all time. No others can compare with it. The resurrection of Jesus Christ declares his victory over death and evil. It is the beginning of a new life, a new kind of life, a life beyond the grave. With the resurrection of Jesus Christ a new era dawned for mankind. The New Testament states that the same body of Jesus Christ that was buried was raised on the third day to a glorified state. This happened to fulfil the Scriptures. Christ’s resurrection is evidence of his deity; proves his victory over death and the Powers of darkness; gives us a living hope and assurance of God’s acceptance; and is the foundation for our eventual resurrection. There is a day coming when Christians will also rise from the dead and receive a glorified body like Christ’s. In fact, when someone becomes a Christian, he or she experiences a new kind of life in which the power of the resurrection is available to them now. In the months of April we call you to focus on Jesus. There’s no better place for you to focus in a time of difficulty. Imagine how the first disciples experienced Jesus after he had risen from the dead. For the women at the tomb, it must have been a huge surprise to see him in the grey light of dawn, alive from the dead! For the disciples on the Sea of Galilee, it must have been very exciting to realise that it was Jesus on the shore. To the church today we need to see him exalted to the right-hand of the Majesty on high, his enemies defeated and placed under his feet! Joined together with us as we celebrate Jesus Christ, as John saw him in Revelation 1:17-18, “when I saw him, I fell at his feet as they did. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. I am the living one; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

Is it wrong to be familiar with God?

Y ou may or may not have heard the statement made in a Charismatic meeting. The preacher, after using one or more biblical passage to prove his point, solemnly warning the congregation about the dangers of becoming familiar with God. Often spiritual issues like losing the fear of the Lord, unbelief and pride are listed as the end result of familiarity with the Almighty. But is this really true? Now I am not for a moment diminishing the seriousness of the aforementioned spiritual issues. But is familiarity with God truly the culprit? One of the passages I've most often encountered that is used in this regard is found in Mark 6: “Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing? Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t th...

Ekids - Week 4 (Shield of Faith)

Bible Story Page (4-5) “Exploring Canaan” (Numbers 13-14) GIVE each child a paper plate and a coloring utensil. Then, SAY: ALLOW kids to put plates on top of heads. Then, READ the story below. ALLOW kids to look at their drawings and score them based on the numbers below: In Numbers 13-14, there is a story about two men who relied on their faith in God to protect their hearts when everyone else was weakr. As I read this Bible story, I will give you instructions about what to draw on your plate! BUT…you have to put the plate on top of your head while you draw! A long time ago, God’s people, the Israelites, were slaves in Egypt. But God used a man named Moses to free them from slavery and lead them to the amazing land that God promised them. After being in the desert for many years, Moses and the Israelites finally arrived at Canaan, the land that God had promised to give them. Moses chose 12 men to go into the land. He wanted them to see what it looked like, if...
